Highly drought tolerant, Snake Herb attracts many butterflies with its lavender blooms (but not snakes, we promise!). It can withstand periodic wet conditions and slowly spreads via rhizome to fill in an area in sun (where its blooms are prolific) or shade (with fewer blooms). Low growing at only about 12" tall, it makes a wonderful groundcover that offers value for wildlife. It's also a host plant for the Common Buckeye, a common North Texas garden visitor.
