An excellent full-sun groundcover that attracts tons of butterflies (and sphinx moths) with 150+ days of blooms from early spring until frost. In the Verbena family of plants, it's a distant relative of two other North Texas favorites: Lantana and Frogfruit. The appearance of Prairie Verbena is quite similar to Homestead Purple Verbena, which is also native and a distant relative.
