"New Gold" Lantana has bright yellow blooms, attracts butterflies, and is highly drought tolerant. In fact, it’s a Texas Superstar! Because it’s a sterile hybrid it does not produce seeds and pop up in unwanted places around the garden. Take a stem cutting instead to grow more plants.
It loves radiant heat from concrete sidewalks and driveways and offers a very long bloom time. It has a bushier growth habit compared to the native Texas Lantana (L. urticoides). Cut it back after frost and it will return in the spring from the roots. Leaves have a pleasant aroma but are mildly toxic for pets. Learn more at Master Gardeners.
