Lantana (Dallas Red)

A butterfly magnet! Lantana is one of the best plants to bring butterflies to your garden. One of the most popular Lantanas (along with New Gold), Dallas Red gets bigger than New Gold and has deep red blooms, unlike the native Texas Lantana which has red and yellow flowers. It can get almost as large as you want it to, dying back to its roots after frost. Trim it back to the root in December-January and new fresh growth will return in spring. During the growing season, let it grow freely to reach 3 feet tall, or trim it back for a more compact shape. Learn more at Master Gardeners.
