Birds love Coralberry. Blooming with white flowers that are a favorite for native bees, it has bright pink berries in late summer that persist into winter after the plant sheds it leaves, providing a subtle touch of color in the landscape when everything else in the garden has faded. Coralberry does well in shady areas as a mass planting. It will spread ria stems that fall to the ground and “walk” the plant as it creeps out, expanding the planting outward in whichever direction you'd like it to grow. It is native to North Texas down to Houston and San Antonio as far west (almost) as San Angelo. A distant relative of the coral honeysuckle. Learn more at Native Plant Society and Native Gardeners.
