Mexican Hat

Mexican Hat is a great wildflower for dry, hot areas. Avoid planting it in clay that stays wet as it wants drier soil. It has a long bloom time (100+ days) in summer, and will set seed you can collect if you want more plants, or leave them for the birds to enjoy.
