Little Bluestem

Gorgeous ornamental grass that starts off bright green (in spring) and then turns to bronze (in the fall). Unlike ornamental grasses from Big Box stores that aren't native, Little Bluestem is a host plant for many types of skipper butterflies. In the fall after frost, trim back the stems, or leave them until spring and trim them in mid-February before new growth emerges from the base.
