A Texas Superstar plant, Henry Duelberg is a type of mealy-blue sage. Like all mealy-blue sages, the Henry Duelberg variety is very drought tolerant. It puts on quite a show of slender blue bloom spikes, beginning in early spring and lasting through summer. It's a host plant of the Southern Pink Moth (Pyrausta inornatalis).
While visiting a central Texas cemetery, Greg Grant saw the plant growing by the gravestone of Henry Duelberg, born in 1854. He also saw a white type growing by the gravestone of his wife (Augusta), born in 1857 just a few years after Texas was incorporated into the United States.
